I think even I'd have a dabble at that. Mainly the idea of teaching you to play a real guitar at the same time appeals to me. Which is something that I've been meaning to do for ages. It's just a matter of choosing between gaming time and practice chords time. Where with this you can encorporate both activities into one, hooray!

The Beatles Rock Band is now, officially the king of all music games. I've barely come up for air playing it. I even bought a mike!

I can imagine. They have the game playing in Walmart all day long and the songs all sound great (of course). It seems like it's pretty much the pinnacle of music games.

I was actually quite excited about Beatles Rock Band when I originally read the announcement. But after reading the set list I was a little disappointed. It seemed to me that a good deal of my favourite tracks aren't in there. No Let It Be, Nowhere Man, or Hey Jude anywhere in the tracks I may give it a miss.

I haven't played it (in fact, I haven't played any Rock Band/Guitar Hero type game), but it's been getting a staggering amount of positive press. I've heard more than one source state it could be as important to video games as the Beatles themselves were to music. Now, this is pretty obvious hyperbole; I don't think it'll be anywhere near that big. But it definitely is showing the potential for expanding the potential demographic for video games, in much the same way as happened with Tetris, The Sims, Wii Sports, and the original Guitar Hero.

Ah, silly Ridge. Why give it all now when they can charge you for expansions and microtransactions?

I actually really like that the set list includes a lot of the less known tracks. It's reminded me how great a lot of their songs are that dont get all the airplay.

Plus, it supports up to three singers at once, and gives you points for harmonizing. It's enough to make me wish I liked the Beatles more.
