Since I know several people have expressed interest in the upcoming Battle of the Babes II, I thought I'd give you all an update on the progress.

This will be the first ever co-produced Battle, with Ridge and I both in control. What this means to the actual Battle is probably very little, it will still feature lots of babes and lots of voting.

Another new feature of this battle was that there were babes that couldn't be nominated. It was decided not to include any of the babes that were in the last Battle of the Babes. That's why there are no "Buffy" babes, no Monica Bellucci or Catherine Zeta-Jones. But that doesn't mean there was a shortage of beautiful women.

We've already taken nominations for the Battle from 11 moderators and Hallsians, with 81 individual babes being nominated. Since we planned this to be a field of 64, that means 17 babes had to be cut (so, if you don't see somebody you nominated, they were probably one of the 17. Feel free to nominate them for a future Battle of the Babes III).

There's no ETA on the Battle, but while Ridge works on the graphics, I'm going to be "teasing" the Battle with pictures of our nominees in the Harems. Enjoy!

Basically, if they were at the top of your list, they probably made it in. It was pretty much the bottom two (and unfortunatly in some cases, bottom three) nominations on everybody's list, unless the babe was also nominated by somebody else.

So, if you're mad that someone on your list didn't make it in, uh, I guess all I can say is that she should have been higher on your list.

There were some I actually left off my list, just because I knew they'd get put in by others. But I am liking the possible contenders all ready!

I'd hope we'd have babes from the first battle return to eligibility in future battles. I had probably my Top 5-10 babes in that one.

Well, the first Battle of the Babes was created using an entirely different process, with K2 asking people to post their favorite babes until he had enough (this was in ancient times, before we had the designing of battles down to a science). I'm not sure how K2 figured out who would face off in the first round; maybe, if you're lucky, he'll share the process of us. Plus, we had no idea we would eventually do a second one.

So it stands to reason that people would nominate their "best babes" in the first battle.

Yeah, it was a very spur-of-the-moment thing. I was listening to a talk radio show at lunch one day and they were asking listeners to list their "Top 5", and the show hosts would take them and compile them into a list of hot babes ranked according to their own tastes.

At the time, the Babes Thread was one of the most popular features of Creation Matrix, so I thought it would be fun for the CM folks to compile their own list. It was March, so I was naturally thinking in terms of brackets of 64, so I decided to do the thing in a series of polls.

I asked some of the mods over at CM to post some of their favorite babes, I filled in the rest of the 64, and then seeded them at random. The rest, they say, is history.

As for "using up the best babes"... well, I didn't have any trouble coming up with 10 nominees that I think compare very well with the contestants from the first battle. I don't think others had problems either.

Yeah, I thought I was going to have a huge problem, but it ended up taking me all of ten seconds. So that was nice.

I had a thought, and maybe I'm just a little crazy (or a whole lot crazy). I think we should enjoy this BotB, then after we recover, we should do a BotB III, with all new competitors (some of which could be taken from the cut list from this one). Then we take the elite 8 from each battle, plus 8 at large bids, and have a Battle of the Champion Babes, to crown the ultimate Babe.

But then we would have "Crowned the Ultimate Babe" and would be unable to do any future Babes battles as they would be rendered completely pointless.

Nah, just retire the Champ to the Harems and let the rest fight it out all over again.

Maybe next time we could do the Battle of the MILFs.

Just a heads up, Ridge is furiously working on the graphics (when he can find time), so we should be ready to go pretty soon. We'll probably wait until at least the Battle of Ideas Doomed to Deferred Success is done and the Battle of the Video Games is well on its way.

Also, I wasn't even aware Kylie Minogue was still around, let alone around enough to rank on a Top 99 list. She wouldn't have ranked on my Top 99 when she was famous.

Off-hand, I'd say it's written by non-Brits. Keeley's just a Page 3 girl, and we don't get the Sun here; the only reason us American Hallsians know about her is you.
