Loving the Cyclops (although he looks a bit 'chunky'), and am excited about the new map...hope it's slightly better than the brown map, with the odd turret and mini-lake.
K26dp
I guess this set will retire Ultimates, Cosmic Justice, and Universe.
Dragoon
That beast looks interesting, but then I always like it when they put "terrain" on the bases.
KilljoyBob
I like the classic Storm and Angel. Hopefully Warren will be more useful than the last one.
Leeds Knight
The last one was ok - I think there were just more useful figures for the points. I'd like to see the metal-winged version though.
KilljoyBob
I was just kind of surprised that they put Archangel in the black and yellow costume, when all the other X-Men had been in classic costumes. Plus that twisty pose just looked awkward and painful.

Is the danger room considered a starter set then?

And on a more important note, those damn paramedics & destiny will be restricted!
TheRidge
Destiny won't be missed that much, as K26dp said over at Creation Matrix. Most people use Domino as a better PC'er now what with her stealth she's cheap enough to run. Then there's Scarlet Witch from Fantastic Forces, I'd sooner use her than Destiny. Especially the Veteran...

As for the Paramedic it's about time those cheap support pieces got the drop. Besides there are plenty of other support figures that I'd prefer using to them.
Gravity
I agree.

I like the PD medics (Easy company and DEO agent). At least you know that you can get a TA for a few extra points!
Leeds Knight
Um, easy company will be retired by this.
Gravity
I mentioned ECM as an example of a PD medic.

So, up to the retirement i like ECM and DEO agents, and after this summer, i will only like DEO agents as medics.
KilljoyBob
Cyclops preview

Good stats for a 40 point figure, but a short dial.
KilljoyBob
New object rules and new object previews

Another indestructable heavy object. woot.gif

EDIT: Jean Grey's stats.
KilljoyBob
Masters of Evil TA changes in "Danger Room."

Now, instead of the less-than-useful "everyone can attack an adjacent enemy with one action," the MoE can now be pushed a second time...I think. It's worded very awkwardly.

Bonus: A nice picture of the Danger Room set.
K26dp
They can take an action with two tokens on them. They take a click of damage if they do. It's not worded as "push damage" so that Willpower won't get around it.
Oogie
Interesting that the Danger Room Jean is the same points as the IC Vet. I think this one is MUCH more useful, even without the support.

So do you think that mean that they take push damage for the second action (or avoid it if they have Willpower), and then another, unavoidable click for a third action?

BTW, a quick check of the Figure Gallery shows that only three MoE figures have Willpower: Baron Zemo, Rookie Executioner, and Rookie Ultron-5 (Armor Wars).
K26dp
Yep.

Action 1.
Action 2. Second Token, no push damage with Willpower
Action 3. Take a click, Willpower or no.

Baron Zemo becomes a pretty decent figure with this TA.
Gravity
I'm wondering why Wizkids have made the danger room figures Veterans, whereas previous starter sets have been Experienced.

Maybe to cash in on the new "Veterans rarer than Uniques" phenomenon?

How would WizKids "cash in" on that?
Leeds Knight
I believe what Gravity meant was:

Some players walk past and see 6 experienced figures in a box - "meh - without looking at their dials, I bet they're not great."

6 veterans - "Ooh, they're veterans, which are quite rare nowadays, and have good stats - I feel more inclined to purchase them."
Gravity
Yep, thats what i meant! smile.gif
KilljoyBob
It seems odd that they make Starter set figures Experienced or Veteran figures, since they aren't part of a full REV set. I think they should have a different color ring (like the purple Promo figures), perhaps green, and be called Starter on the Figure Gallery.

That's what Wizards of the Coast does with some of their cards. It'd make sense to me, as well. But then, what makes sense to us and what makes sense to Wizkids....
Leeds Knight
As an official envoy I must ask you to halt any further Wizkids mick-taking (I think it's in my contract somewhere).

But yes, KJB, that would make a lot more sense. I think they use it to represent the power level. E.g. you'll expect these ones to be more poweful than the average experienced of the same name.

Angel
Beast
Colossus
Storm

Beast and Storm preview
TheRidge
That Beast figure is probably the only one that I like looks wise. Overall the stats and sculpts aren't as impressive as I thought they might be given that these are some of the selling points for the set.
KilljoyBob
I like the new Angel. It's nothing superb, but it's leaps and bounds above the old one.
KilljoyBob
A new Rule Book and PAC with the Danger Room set.

Plus, a first look at the Danger Room maps. No empty brown map with a few rocks and ponds anymore.
TheRidge
I like that new map, way better than the manure heap from the Map Pack.

This seems cool. I saw it at the comic shop yesterday. I'm thinking, though, that my clix collecting may be done. I still really enjoy playing, but I only play online and can't afford to buy.
