Full Version: Crazy Train vs. Ballroom Blitz
The Halls of Hysteria > The Battleground > Battle Purgatory > Battle of the Metal Songs
Chaomancer Omega

All aboard! Hahaha

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe, it's not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I've listened to preachers
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeah yeah

Heirs of the cold war
That's what we've become
Inheriting troubles, I need to leave now
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Are you ready, Steve? Aha.
Andy? Yeah! Mick? OK.
Alright, fellas, let's go!

Oh it's been getting so hard
Livin' with the things you do to me, aha
Oh my dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
Oh, I see a man at the back
As a matter of fact his eyes are red as the sun
And a girl in the corner let no one ignore her
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one

Oh, yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

I'm reaching out for something
Touching nothing's all I ever do
Oh, I softly call you over
When you appear there's nothing left of you, aha
Now the man in the back
Is ready to crack as he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is ev'ryone's mourner
She could kill you with a wink of her eye

Oh yeah, it was electric, so frightfully hectic
And the band started leaving, 'cause they all stopped breathing

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

Oh yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

It's it's a ballroom blitz, it's it's a ballroom blitz
It's it's a ballroom blitz, yeah, it's a ballroom blitz

Remember what I said about great songs almost always beating out fun songs? This is one of those very rare cases were I'll take fun over greatness. Give me the Blitz!
Trebor
I won't argue with which goes on, but I'll throw it to greatness here.
Oogie
I just can't go against Ozzy in this instance.
KilljoyBob
I like Ozzy, but I'm voting for Ballroom Blitz here.
Chaomancer Omega
As am I. I don't think Crazy Train is even one of his best works; it's OK, but he's done better. And Ballroom Blitz is iconic, which is one of the reasons it's covered by something like two dozen bands... rolleyes.gif

Hmm... Ballroom Blitz, the song that gets stuck in your head, and goes around and around your mind for a month, versus Crazy Train... Ozzy Ozzbourne back when he HAD a mind, before he became the poor, sickly charicature of himself that we see on MTV nowadays...

As Pintsize from Questionable Content once said, "Crazy Train is the best song ever."
GelfOgre
The opening riff to Crazy train is one of the greatest guitar riffs in history. I love playing it and it certainly gets my vote here.
coldsteel
Dudes, Vincent could sing Crazy Train when he was 4 or 5. Gotta go with the MAN!
