I just attacked our "friend" with 14 swordsmen and 10 phalanx. We'll see what he does against that.
retro22
HAH, get anything good off him?

Don't want people to forget about checking their civ's info on the first post to make sure it's correct but I had a question to pose to everyone.

The other day, Retro and I found a couple of messages in our diplomacy box from a couple people asking to join our alliance. I didn't recognize the two people who sent the ones to me so I'm not sure how they found out about us. Perhaps through trading (buying/selling) with a few of our members. But I just wanted to hear what everyone thought about opening up the alliance to non-Hallsians? This site pretty much functions as our External Alliance page so I thought that if we do accept more people, we could send them a link to this thread and ask them to register here so that they can communicate with the rest of us and trade ideas back and forth as well as broaden our resources.
And the prospect of bringing more potential Hallsians to the site certainly didn't escape me either. But what's everyone think about adding more people to the alliance?

Sounds like a decent idea to me. Maybe toss the names of the people in here to see if anyone recognizes 'em as well?
TwinkyMaster
That's a good idea, Trebor. The alliance requests I received were sent from Amethikki at Undrax (70:90), daiwey245 at daiwey (44:87) and pherataheo at RongMilks land (13:47).

Now that I look at it, Amethikki looks to be on an island with Trebor, daiwey245 is on an island with Gelf and pherataheo is on an island with Antman (who has yet to send a request to join the alliance). So yeah, it looks like each of these guys probably did some past trades with a couple of us.
Aaronc3477
eh...let em in...but make them register here MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Trebor
Is there a way to set up a permanent shipping between some of your own islands? I'm having problems with my non-wine islands not having any and getting very upset.
Aaronc3477
not that I know of....do you need some? I can spare a bit if so....message me in-game and let me know what you need.
Trebor
I've got all the wine I could need, just have no way of getting it between towns quickly.
retro22
my solution was move my colonies to the same archipelago...past that you can set up permanent trade agreements through one of the researches, market.

I'm checking the forums right now.

EDIT:

I can't seem to find anything on it :-X
Oogie
I've not figured out a way to do it. I know you are supposed to be able to do it between people, but I've not tried yet. I just send over like 600 at a time. That's more than enough for a day.
Soylent Daveage
Finally, after months (days) of planning, after massive relocation and removal projects, after scraping together stone from wherever I could damn well find it, finally, the city of SoyVille is no more!

Soon we shall have established the colony of NeoSoyVille on the Island of Drearoos. at 13:46. And now, all my colonies will be together... No more 13 hour delays when sending items from one colony to another...
TwinkyMaster
Yeah, I'm hopping on the bandwagon too and moving my first city into our archipelago as well. Retro's Jedi mind powers finally wore me down. But besides that, Gotham recently got pounded by some jerk on a neighboring archipelago and I didn't want to stick around. Add to that, Gotham's marble was really only benefiting Gotham, since it was too much of a hassle to wait 24 hours for periodic supplies to arrive on my other two cities. I was planning on expanding Gotham's palace and building a new city on a marble island in our archipelago but I figured it would just be more efficient to break down my capital and move it over. Should be about another 24 hours or so and I'll have a New Gotham on some marble island in our arch.
retro22
Sweet!, glad to hear both of you have finally caved to our ways wink.gif

***This is not the droid you are looking for***
TwinkyMaster
"You can go about your business."

And I have. Foregoing the deconstruction of several buildings and going right to destroying the city, I bulldozed Gotham earlier this morning and sent out a new colony right from Metropolis. Gotham had all the degenerates anyway. Metropolis is good folk. Ironically, I picked out a marble island and checked out the open spaces only to find that Daveage was already there with his new colony. And he'd saved me a spot right next to his city. Thanks, buddy!

And thus, Gotham City is born anew at Drearoos (13:46). I'm updating the first post with my new info as well as Soylent's new city.
retro22
Sweet!

congrats to both of you smile.gif

welcome to your new home, quick question:

will gotham remain your capital once it is rebuilt?
TwinkyMaster
Nah, I thought about it and it would be more beneficial to leave Metropolis as my capital since it's the larger city and will generate more corruption so having it as my capital will cut down on that. Plus, Gotham City's too dingy to be a capital city. Metropolis is much more capital material.
GelfOgre
Does anyone have "Governor" yet? I'm researching it now.
Trebor
How much did you lose from moving like that Twinky?
Oogie
I just got it a little bit ago Gelf.

Um, if you're talking about resources I left behind, I had about 5,000 wood and 1,000 marble left in the city. I still hadn't broken down the academy which was level 6. I also had a level 5 trading port, a level 2 palace, a level 3 museum, and a level 9 town hall. No idea how much all of that would've given me in resources but I was already waiting on the last shipment to reach Metropolis and I didn't wanna load up another one to wait 24 more hours before I could start building my new colony. I opted to speed things along and cut my loses. I'm sure I'll make up for it now with having all my cities one island apart (seriously, each of my islands are neighboring another one of mine. biggrin.gif ) so things should go pretty quickly for me now.
retro22
congrats on the accelerated growth twinky!

as for governor, i do not have it, im opting to go a different route now, ive up to ballistics.

im working on my military first, then i'll get governor(as i dont think it does anything atm)...but my new units will be a NICE addition to the halls armada biggrin.gif
Soylent Daveage
I took the longer route of breaking things down first. It was just about the only way I could get the marble to make the move in the first place.

And I would have set up on Augheetia, but SOMEone has built themselves two cities there and is hogging all the marble... Not that I'm one to name names, RETRO...
retro22
:-X, im trying to blillage(blockade and pillage) the frack out of TheForgotten so someone can settle here...hes innactive...only X more days til its a free colonization spot :-X. (and honestly I'd like 3 marble colonies, though i dont want to take the spot tha tim attempting to create, someone else can have it. biggrin.gif (Sorry if i fracked with your plans guys :-X)
Trebor
So, I'm starting up another colony in our area on the Crystal Island where we already have 6 of us, but I have next to no Marble over here, can I get some help, it's gonna take over a day for any to arrive from my original area.
retro22
I'll send some once it's colonized smile.gif
retro22
Sent 375, sorry it was all I have right now :-X.

hope it helps.

So is this your fourth city or did you breakdown one of the others? I'm just asking for the first-post records.
Trebor
Still debating on the breakdown, haven't decided yet as that is a lot that i have over there.
GelfOgre
btw, if anyone has any wine to spare, I could use it at any of my colonies.
Trebor
Can do Gelfster. Though it's only 600, don't have enough boats right now.
GelfOgre
Boats are definitely a priority in the later part of this game. I'm up to 10 and they're always in use.
Trebor
I'm at 26 and have none empty, actually bought two more to send you wine.
TwinkyMaster
I'm at 22 boats myself, and am only out about 5 or 6 at a time, now that I'm not sending cargo ships on 24 hour voyages.

I've usually always got extra wine on Metropolis. I don't seem to use it up too much and my brother won't accept enough of it so if anyone else needs any just lemme know. I'll check which of Gelf's islands Trebor sent wine to and see if I can reach the others.
TwinkyMaster
Well, it's quite a hike to your outside islands Ogre Patch and New Ogreton, Gelf. About 14 hours and 17 hours respectively. But I sent out 900 wine to each. So tomorrow morning you should be pretty well set for wine.
GelfOgre
Cool. Thanks both of you!
retro22
Well, I can always use wine, as it is involved in maintanenece.

In reference to the rest of the resources in the game, I've recently come into an abundance of them(or rather will be after i get rid of corruption on my last island by upgrading the gov's residence to level 3). Now that I've accomplished my goal of overcoming oogie in score(at least for the time being) if anyone need help boosting their palaces for more cities(or in general) then I can ship some off, once my boats return happy.gif.

On a side note, I would highly reccomend making the voyage to the halls archipelego as soon as you can.
TwinkyMaster
So I thought I'd let everyone know that Retro, Zay, and I have launched a military campaign against Leothewolf. The three of us were pretty anxious to war with someone and seeing as Leothewolf has pillaged from (at least) Zay, Antman, and Zay's girlfriend on more than one occasion and he shares a city on two islands with Zay and myself, he became a prime target for us. His cities are located at the following:

Belmon*, Island - Thrivios (13,47). Level 10 town, level 10 walls, level 8 barracks, level 4 shipyard. Last known military status - 2 Phalanx, 3 archers. (7:30 Game time 16.04.2008).

Pere, Island - Omoios (12,46). Level 8 town, level 5 walls, level 3 barracks. Last known military status - Nothing. (8:15 Game time 17.04.2008).

Polis, Island - Drearoos (13,46). Level 6 town level 4 walls, 0 barracks. (8:15 Game time 17.04.2008)

As you can see, we've gathered quite a bit of intel from this guy. I personally have at least one spy in each of his cities and I know Zay has a couple of his own. There's almost nothing we don't know about him. It's just a matter of keeping up to date on our intel. If anyone would like to join our little campaign, just say so and we'll start coordinating our attacks and spy missions with you.
Soylent Daveage
Oh, i've already smacked that little bitch around a bit... Before I vacated SoyVille I blockaded him and raided two of his cities fairly heavily. That's how I got the stone I needed to move...

But if we're going to be gunning for him all-out, then let me just sharpen my army and send them on another little excursion...
GelfOgre
My army on Omoios is pretty pathetic. Does anyone know if you can move forces from one city to another?
Aaronc3477
there's a way to do it, but I cant remember how off hand.

Also, I'm thinking really hard about moving Echelon up to around New Echelon, so it wont take 26 hours to send thigns back and forth......any tips on a smooth transition?

Yep, there is. I don't believe there's any research that you need for it. If there is, then it's a relatively early one. Anyway, you simply find the island you want to sent troops to in the island map. Click on it once and you'll bring up "Deploy Troops", "Deploy Fleets", and "Transport Goods" on the left. Obviously 'troops' are any units created in the Barracks and 'fleets' are any units created in the Shipping Yards. Oh, you'll need at least a level 1 Trading Port to send troops because they travel by Cargo ships. It's the same reason why if you're attacking someone's city with ground units, you wanna send in some military ships first in case the other guy has any ships defending his city.

Um, Retro might be a better help for this than I am but I'll just tell ya what I know. I believe you'll need to transfer your capital from the original city, to the newer city. I'm not sure if there's any advantage to doing that sooner rather than later. I simply did it just before demolishing my old city. You should start downgrading your buildings and sending the resources you get back to your other city. That should probably include firing any military units you have in your old city since they are especially expensive to transfer from one city to the next. Remember to downgrade your Trading Port last because it'll really slow down the loading time. Then, once you've got everything downgraded to your satisfaction, you can either demolish your old town and start up a new colony from your existing city or you can create a third colony (provided you have a large enough palace/government building) and then send the resources from the old city before demolishing it.
Trebor
So, my little town was raided.

Xajinapolis Juthelos 12:47, player is Xajin
retro22
hmmm, I'm sure that twinky zay and I wouldn't mind adding him to our campaign of glory...or war...:-p

*shrugs* most definitley up to you though smile.gif
Trebor
Kill him. Kill him dead then kill him some more.
retro22
lmao alright, zay\twink, any thoughts on doing it while we are smacking around leo, or after?

Your pillaging fleet has arrived in Xajinapolis, yet turns around because of an on-going port blockade.
retro22
war ships blocked your trade ships from entereing the port and pillaging
TwinkyMaster
Right, does anyone know who was blockading him at the time? Daveage perhaps?

We should let each other know when these things are happening so that we don't waste time and money.
