I am going to be running The Battle Of The Heroclix Sculpts! This will be my first battle, although I've been interested in running one since about the fourth day I joined The Halls. It will be a 32 entrant Battle. I hope you all have fun, and can bear with me as I adjust to the learning curve of running a battle rather than just participating.
That being said, here are the rules and restrictions:
1) I would like all interested parties to come up with a list of no more than 20 heroclix sculpts that they would like to nominate. (Please rank these: ie; 1 is your favorite and 20 is the one that just barely made the list.)
2) The figures nominated should be based on their sculpt.
3)All heroclix are eligible for nomination
EXCEPT colossals, giants, and Hammer of Thor Figures (As not all of them have been released yet).
3) Please PM those to me no later than
11:59 PM EST October 23. This is 3 weeks.
Also; when possible please include the name, set, and set number, and any other identifying information you feel is needed.
A good resource for seeing sculpts is
hcrealms.com. Under the units section you can preview just about all the sculpts in existence. The only catch is that you must register on their site.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at any time.

I'll have to go digging through the tackle boxes full of 'Clix out in the garage, but I'll get you a nomination list.
And good luck on your first Battle!

I'll have to take a look through some of the figures I have. As there have been a few I've liked and others not so much.

Can I just ask if you're doing away with giant sized figures? Does the World's Finest sculpt count from Crisis. I think it was the mailaway features Bats and Supes on one dial. Only it takes up about 4 squares so it's bigger than regular, but the sculpts aren't?
If it's allowed that's definitely going on my list.

I got my list in. After looking at HCRealms, I must admit that a lot of nice figures came out after I stopped collecting and playing the game. I just wish the darn rules hadn't gotten so complicated that the game just wasn't fun anymore.

Yes, as per the rules I had allowed that to be selected, if people think that it will cause an imbalance I can remove that, but as it stands it is allowed. I didn't want to single it out from the other Brick Figures such as Super Skrull, Joker, Dark Beast or The Phantom Stranger. Also from other Duo figures such as Lead and Tin, or Hawk and Dove.

OK; I'm out of town for the weekend, so as long as the list is in by Sunday night I'll accept it, as I wont be able to work on them until then. This goes for anyone else who wants to get one in as well.

Nominations are closed. Thank you to all who gave me lists! I had a total of 5 entrants which, for my first battle(and a size 32 battle), I don't think is too bad at all. I will be updating with some stats and any interesting trends that I notice as I go. Hopefully this won't take me too long.

Man, Marvel kind of got hosed. I could have sworn I nominated at least one Captain America figure.
Anyway, it looks interesting. I'm really looking forward to it.

Since only 32 can make it in, and we could each nominate 20, I'm betting a lot of stuff wound up not making the cut. For a second, I thought Retro had included the wrong Kyle Rayner figure until I realized someone may have nominated the one shown, and that the other one (my nomination) was probably not ranked quite highly enough.

That's true.
And I think I nominated the Kyle Rayner figure in the picture.

Yes indeed. There were multiple Kyle Rayner's nominated, however the one you see is the only one with enough nomination points to make the top 32.

Not bad, not bad. The text gets hard to read as it enters the black, though... you might consider altering some color choices, make it a little easier to make out.
retro22
Nov 21 2009, 02:25 AM
Do you think that if I moved the gradient of black over to the right a tad more(so it doesn't overlap the text) then it would be OK; or do you think green and black aren't good for the color scheme?
Chaomancer Omega
Nov 21 2009, 03:35 PM
Yeah, moving it so it doesn't overlap the text is fine. Black and green is a great color scheme, especially here on the Halls.

I have that Kyle Rayner figure. I'm guessing CO the one you mentioned was the one with three different scupts I think from the Origin set. With the flaming green see through sword and shield combo. I like that one also.
Wish I'd be more proactive and gotten my entries in. I'd have thrown the Black Panther from the Avengers set in there that figure looks good. Sure he may not be as deadly a version for the powers as the first Panther from Infinity Challenge but the sculpts way better.

I agree, he's definitely a cool sculpt. He didn't make my top few though, but very cool nonetheless.
