Not really they used to have the occassional episode here and there before the original creative force left. Now it seems like last season and this that they're shoehorning in as much DCU content that they can. Sure the Doomsday story last season was a little weak with the whole Jekyll/Hyde angle they threw on it. But the Legion of Superheroes episode was pretty damn cool.

This was the first episode I'd seen in about 5 years, but DrHMcCoy told me that in addition to the introduction of the JSA:
1. This was the first episode with Amanda Waller 2. This was the first episode with Checkmate 3. This was the first episode that mentions the Suicide Squad 4. This was the first episode that you glimpse Martian Manhunter in his green form

Um, not really. A couple-3 seasons ago, when Clark was hunting the Phantom Zone escapees, the one in Seattle you saw him, kinda, and he left an Oreo cookie behind...
But still, quite an excellent episode. I liked Pam Grier as Amanda Waller. One week closer to the right damn suit.

That said, some of that dialogue was gawd-awful. It's one thing to have bad dialogue in a comic, and quite another having it read out loud. Some of Hawkman's lines in particular were cringe-worthy.
The actress they had playing Stargirl was horrible as well.
Also, Tom Welling was virtually invisible. I realize that this wasn't necessarily about him, but he seemed to sleepwalk through the episode.

I thought she was fine, but to be fair I may not have noticed because I was trying to kill myself every time Icicle II came on screen.

Yeah, just a tad over-the-top, eh?

Really Smallville? Really? Clark Kent knocks down a pair of twin towers in the middle of a city with his heat vision? Really? No potential downside to that?

What nothing about the end of Zod and the tease of the suit???
