WOW! An awesome start to season 4!

So much good stuff! And great lines too! Between the intro of Lois Lane and all the near nakedness of Lana (and Clark dry.gif ) this episode kicked ass! Erica Durance did a great job with the Lois character, pretty dead-on to me. Other stuff that was cool:
Lois having a thing for 'geeks with glasses'
Clark's 'fortress of solitude'
Margot Kidder's (!) character and Dr. Swann having something 'in a different time'.
Black Kryptonite?!
The flying sequence was my favorite part - great FX!!!
No body in Chloe's grave!
I can't wait for next episode!!!
TheRidge
Damn why did I have to click spoiler now I have to wait a whole 3 months to find out how it all plays out.

Curse my curiousity!
the superfly
No no, this was the first episode of the new season! You'll find out next week!
Cyclops
Last night's episode may have been the best episode of Smallville in it's entire run. It had everything, and everything it had was awesome. From the Clark/Kal El situation, (Great potential there) to Lex's dire circumstances, and Lana getting busy with her new boytoy, Lois' exactly perfect characterization, Martha Kent finally getting some screen time, everything.

This episode hit one out of the park. A+
Aaronc3477
i agree....im pissed I have to wait an entire WEEK to find out what happens next!

Well, since Ridge lives in the UK, I'm assuming he'll have to wait 3 months before it is broadcast over there.
the superfly
You're right! I forgot about that - sorry my good man. 3 whole months until you see the nice rack on Lois. Bummer.
MrFlantastic
Fan-smurfing-tastic. This episode was tremendous for all the reasons mentioned above and more. I was planning on boycotting the WB after they treated Joss Whedon and Angel like crap but I'm sure glad that i decided not to be pro-active.
K26dp
Yep, good episode. My favorite scene though was Lois confronting Lionel in his cell... I love the idea that Lionel is beholden to someone he doesn't even know.

I actually almost shed a tear with the Martha/John/Clark scene at the hospital.
TheRidge
I for one cannot wait until January which is when it'll probably start being shown here. Also I heard rumours that originally the creators planned for a five year series. But now they'll only be going to four years, meaning that this is the last ever series of the show.
the superfly
Really? That sucks. sad.gif
TheRidge
Tell me about it I have to wait until after Christmas. Of course I could simply start downloading them off the internet like I did with the first few episodes of last series.
the superfly
Great episode! I've heard a bunch of people bitching about the Lois character, but I think she's dead-on.

And of course, the promo for next week was the best part!!! laugh.gif

Really? I haven't heard that at all. Everyone I've been talking to thought she had Lois nailed.

I liked this weeks episode, but did it seem like htey had their continuity a bit wonky? Day night day day night what time is it?????

Other than that, anything with Michael Ironside is Otay in my book.
K26dp
Good episode, despite the most ineffective commandos ever in the opening sequence.

True...who knew Lois could kick so much ass??

I'm really stoked about next weeks episode.... did you see that preview? Lana and some hot chick making out?!!! dribble.gif

Damn, I love this show.
the superfly
It's been two weeks with no comments?!

There's good stuff here people!
MrFlantastic
It's been good but I'm really waiting for next week when we get to meet Bart Allen.

Isn't a little obvious when everything that mutates people or hurts Clark is neon green? Wouldn't you just learn to avoid anything green?
Aaronc3477
hell, i dont see how the "Kryptonade" didn't friggin KILL Clark...i mean, if he even see's the stuff, he starts acting like he's been shot in the chest...just being picky, i suppose...
Cyclops
Other than the last line (And really everything with Lois Lane who has completely stolen the show) I thought this last episode was mediocre at best.
The scene where she says "Got an explosion up your sleeve?" and he provides one, and then she buys his lame explanation? C'MON!!! And Clark getting to be the football hero was wrong to me as well. Also as much as I like teenage T&A, this whole ep. was so overboard as to be insulting.
For me, a low point in an other wise great show. I did love Lois' last line however. wub.gif
K26dp
Yeah, after a good first couple episodes, the last two have been pretty forgettable.

But I agree, Lois is stealing the show.
the superfly
Agreed! But what was the deal with the K-torade? Didn't anyone notice the water was green??
MrFlantastic
That's exactly what I'm saying. If I lived in Smallville I would keep clear of anything green.
Cyclops
Even lime jello?
MrFlantastic
Even lime jello.
K26dp
Hell, I don't live in Smallville, but I stay away from lime jello just on general principle.

And now I can't read any of SF's posts without putting them in Stormy's voice.
MrFlantastic
Balls! Now you've got me doing it.
Cyclops
I must have missed something major. What is all this Stormy stuff?

And there's always room for jello... shooters.
the superfly
Hi, I'm Stormy.

Dontcha watch Sealab 2021?

Not in Smallville there ain't if there's a pretty good chance they've got Kryptonite molecules in there. Oh and as a plus sign if the people of Smallville get there water from the local reservoir chances are there's a Kryptonite meteor or two in there. And does that mean that just being round these people be poisonous to Clark.

Just a though!

Ah, the amazing britta filtering pitcher. biggrin.gif
the superfly
Great episode tonight - Bart kicked ass!!!

"we should form a club, or league or something" - classic!
K26dp
Yep, a pretty good one. Why Bart though, and not Wally? My wife, bless her heart, actually asked me, "Is that supposed to be the Flash? I thought his name was Wally West".

Anybody else give a rat's ass about Lana anymore? I sure don't.
MrFlantastic
It was a great episode. I liked it when Clark was going through Bart's IDs and reading off the names. The best line from the whole show is the one Superfly mentioned. I cracked up when he said that.

The Lana parts are pretty boring right now but I'm sure they are leading up to something.
the superfly
I hear Lana's supposed to get powers from her little tattoo...
K26dp
Oh, joy...
Aaronc3477
I'd have to agree...this episode was great after last week's yawner....anyone else miss Lois on this show?
K26dp
Not so much this particular episode, since I don't think she could have added much to it. But yeah, Lois did bring a real spark to the show.
the superfly
Okay episode. Use of speed was cool. Lois is back next week! Yay!
Aaronc3477
agreed.....Lois=good
Cyclops
Next weeks looks like a sweeps-week/sex sells episode to me...
YAY!

One question about this week... what was with that weird flashy-lights room where Lex took Mr. Mytzlplk at the end?
Aaronc3477
i was wondering that too.....
the superfly
Looks like Lex is assembling a Legion of Doom...
Aaronc3477
that would f'n RULE!
MrFlantastic
Maybe it will turn him in to an imp and then he can be played by Michael J Pollard like on the Superboy series. That guy kicked ass as Mr. Mxyzptlk. I tried to find a pic of him from the series but I can't.
the superfly
I thought last weeks episode was a great ending for the first half of the season...I'm sure that it was Morgan Edge or Dr. Crosby (Margot Kidder's character) that got Lionel out of jail; it's too bad that we'll have to wait a few months to find out who it really was. I've got a feeling that Clark will tell Chloe about his powers, since Pete is gone he need someone else to talk to besides his parents. Maybe. I dunno.
TwinkyMaster
Aw, I just found out that there are two hours of Smallville repeats tonight. I suppose that's good news for anyone who missed either of the repeated episodes but I was looking forward to new ones. It's starting to turn into a new episode of Smallville every other week.

Oh, and who is Morgan Edge?
TheRidge
The Metropolis crime lord seen twice in the last series. First time he wanted Clark as Kal to work for him after finding out what he could do. Played then by Rutger Haeur.

Then the second time he appeared after he was apparently killed by Lionel Luthor, he'd had a face lift and provided Lex with a tape testimony of how Lionel had paid him to kill Lex's grandparents.
The one where Lex went off his rocker and Clark was beaten up with Kryptonite stress beads.
the superfly
Anyone here still watching? These last couple episodes have been pretty good...Alicia is hot!
K26dp
I dropped it, along with pretty much all my TV watching... BabyMartian just takes up too much attention in the evenings. I'll catch up with the DVDs.
