WOW! An
awesome start to season 4!
So much good stuff! And great lines too! Between the intro of Lois Lane and all the near nakedness of Lana (and Clark

) this episode kicked ass! Erica Durance did a great job with the Lois character, pretty dead-on to me. Other stuff that was cool:
Lois having a thing for 'geeks with glasses'
Clark's 'fortress of solitude'
Margot Kidder's (!) character and Dr. Swann having something 'in a different time'.
Black Kryptonite?!
The flying sequence was my favorite part - great FX!!!
No body in Chloe's grave!
I can't wait for next episode!!!

Last night's episode may have been the best episode of Smallville in it's entire run. It had everything, and everything it had was awesome. From the Clark/Kal El situation, (Great potential there) to Lex's dire circumstances, and Lana getting busy with her new boytoy, Lois' exactly perfect characterization, Martha Kent finally getting some screen time, everything.
This episode hit one out of the park. A+

Well, since Ridge lives in the UK, I'm assuming he'll have to wait 3 months before it is broadcast over there.

Fan-smurfing-tastic. This episode was tremendous for all the reasons mentioned above and more. I was planning on boycotting the WB after they treated Joss Whedon and Angel like crap but I'm sure glad that i decided not to be pro-active.

Yep, good episode. My favorite scene though was Lois confronting Lionel in his cell... I love the idea that Lionel is beholden to someone he doesn't even know.
I actually almost shed a tear with the Martha/John/Clark scene at the hospital.

I for one cannot wait until January which is when it'll probably start being shown here. Also I heard rumours that originally the creators planned for a five year series. But now they'll only be going to four years, meaning that this is the last ever series of the show.

And of course, the promo for next week was the best part!!!

Really? I haven't heard that at all. Everyone I've been talking to thought she had Lois nailed.
I liked this weeks episode, but did it seem like htey had their continuity a bit wonky? Day night day day night what time is it?????
Other than that, anything with Michael Ironside is Otay in my book.

Other than the last line (And really everything with Lois Lane who has completely stolen the show) I thought this last episode was mediocre at best.
The scene where she says "Got an explosion up your sleeve?" and he provides one, and then she buys his lame explanation? C'MON!!! And Clark getting to be the football hero was wrong to me as well. Also as much as I like teenage T&A, this whole ep. was so overboard as to be insulting.
For me, a low point in an other wise great show. I did love Lois' last line however.

Not in Smallville there ain't if there's a pretty good chance they've got Kryptonite molecules in there. Oh and as a plus sign if the people of Smallville get there water from the local reservoir chances are there's a Kryptonite meteor or two in there. And does that mean that just being round these people be poisonous to Clark.
Just a though!

Yep, a pretty good one. Why Bart though, and not Wally? My wife, bless her heart, actually asked me, "Is that supposed to be the Flash? I thought his name was Wally West".
Anybody else give a rat's ass about Lana anymore? I sure don't.
MrFlantastic
Oct 21 2004, 08:00 AM
It was a great episode. I liked it when Clark was going through Bart's IDs and reading off the names. The best line from the whole show is the one Superfly mentioned. I cracked up when he said that.
The Lana parts are pretty boring right now but I'm sure they are leading up to something.

I thought last weeks episode was a great ending for the first half of the season...I'm sure that it was Morgan Edge or Dr. Crosby (Margot Kidder's character) that got Lionel out of jail; it's too bad that we'll have to wait a few months to find out who it really was. I've got a feeling that Clark will tell Chloe about his powers, since Pete is gone he need someone else to talk to besides his parents. Maybe. I dunno.

Aw, I just found out that there are two hours of Smallville repeats tonight. I suppose that's good news for anyone who missed either of the repeated episodes but I was looking forward to new ones. It's starting to turn into a new episode of Smallville every other week.
Oh, and who is Morgan Edge?
TheRidge
Dec 14 2004, 05:20 AM
The Metropolis crime lord seen twice in the last series. First time he wanted Clark as Kal to work for him after finding out what he could do. Played then by Rutger Haeur.
Then the second time he appeared after he was apparently killed by Lionel Luthor, he'd had a face lift and provided Lex with a tape testimony of how Lionel had paid him to kill Lex's grandparents.
The one where Lex went off his rocker and Clark was beaten up with Kryptonite stress beads.
