Starring Christian Bale in the title role, Batman Begins relaunched the Batman movie franchise, pitting the fledgling Dark Knight against Ra's Al Ghul, portrayed by Liam Neeson, and the Scarecrow, portrayed by Cillian Murphy. It won the 2005 McCrea Award for Best Movie and was the third place finalist in the Battle of the Comic Book Movies.
