Battle of the Albums
From HallsWiki
When Chaomancer Omega started the Battle of the Albums, he had originally intended to run a standard 64-entry Battle. However, he received so many nominations, and with such enthusiasm for each nomination, that he decided to expand it to 128, making it the first "Big Battle" of the Halls. The albums nominated ranged across genres and eras, but mostly stuck to various forms of rock and roll. Compilation albums were excluded.
The Battle had a higher degree of infighting than most Battles, possibly due to the personal nature of the subject. While there wasn't much in the way of all-out flames, there was a degree of tension that seemed to bother many members, and subsequently, there was a lower level of discussion than is normal. Despite this, people still expressed interest in future music Battles, leading CO to eventually start up several smaller Songs Battles.
The Battle was narrowly won by Led Zeppelin IV, beating out Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The semi-finalists were The Doors' self-titled album, and Are You Experienced? by Jimi Hendrix.
