Battle of the Comic Book Storylines
From HallsWiki
The last Battle (to date) run by K26dp was the Battle of the Comic Book Storylines, which ran from March to April of 2005. This battle pitted Hallsian-favorite comics stories against each other, to determine which was the best comic book storyline of the past 25 years. The Battle was dogged by a degree of controversy in places, as Hallsians debated the contestants more strongly than in previous battles, and some vote-shilling for certain books, notably Kabuki, seemed questionable in light of Mr. Flantastic running a bracket contest on the Battle. Most notably, there were question over the book Maus, which depicts a slightly fictionalized account of the Holocaust. Some posters were unsure it should have been included, others whether it was right for it to lose to any other book in the Battle. It was defeated by Kingdom Come in a landslide, but the debate was long and heated. Kingdom Come would go on to the final match, where it lost to Watchmen. The semi-finalists were The Dark Knight Returns and Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes.
Despite the controversies, the Battle was still one of the most popular in Halls history, and won the 2005 McCrea Award for Best Battle.
