Battle of the Hodgepodge Songs
From HallsWiki
When Chaomancer Omega created the sixteen original categories for the Grand Battle of Songs, he made one of them a "catch-all" for whatever other songs may be nominated. This category, Hodgepodge, wound up being further split as the conslidation of modern rock songs meant an extra category was needed. Accordingly, Battle of the Themes & Showtunes was split off from Hodgepodge, leaving each with 16 songs in the categories.
With 16 very diverse songs in the line-up, Hodgepodge had a small level of discussion, often centered along preferences of specific types of music. It was won by Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World, which beat out Scott Joplin's The Entertainer.
The top four, in order:
- What a Wonderful World, by Louis Armstrong
- The Entertainer, by Scott Joplin
- Zoot Suit Riot, by Cherry Poppin' Daddies
- Stayin' Alive, by The Bee Gees
