Battle of the Video Games
From HallsWiki
The second Big Battle run by Chaomancer Omega, Video Games was separated into two separate divisions: Classic and Modern. Classic video games consisted of every PC game before Doom, and every console game that was on a system older than the Sega Saturn. Modern video games consisted of every video game after those cut-off points.
In order to diversify the field, CO consolidated certain entities into one game. For example, Dead or Alive 3 and Dead or Alive 2 had their nominations pooled and were entered simply as Dead or Alive 3. While this decision did cause some questions of why the numerous Final Fantasy games weren't consolidated, it mostly helped get more games into the Battle.
The Battle was won by Civilization II, which beat out the Classic champion, Super Mario Bros.. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the combined entry of City of Heroes and City of Villains were semi-finalists.
