The award for Best Heroclix has waned in popularity as the game's following on the Halls has diminished, but its popularity has still been enough to ensure lively voting on the subject. In both 2004 and 2005, the McCrea Award was won by the Kingdom Come version of a character; Superman in 2004, and Green Lantern Alan Scott in 2005.

In 2006, it was not won by a Kingdom Come figure, but still managed to have a tie-in to the previous winner, as the figure for Green Lantern Kyle Rayner was the winner chosen by the Hallsians.
