Best Mainstream Title

Initially titled Best Regular Title, this McCrea Award was renamed Best Mainstream Title in 2005 to clarify its separation from Best Indy Title. It is awarded to the Marvel or DC Comics ongoing series which had the best run during the year. In both 2004 and 2005, it was won by titles that were new that year: Astonishing X-Men in 2004, and Legion of Super-Heroes in 2005. In 2006, Astonishing X-Men broke the trend by reclaiming its title.
