Much as the Oscars distinguish between Best Actor and Best Actress, the McCrea Awards distinguish between superheroes and superheroines. The Best Superheroine McCrea Award is given to the superheroine who most distinguishes herself during the year. In 2004, it was won by She-Hulk for her role in her own title, which also won Best New Title that year. In 2005, it was won by Wonder Woman for her roles in her own title, The OMAC Project and Infinite Crisis.

Sasha Bordeaux was the winner in 2006, for her roles in The OMAC Project and Checkmate.
