Chaomancer Omega started out on another forum, where he participated in many discussions about Heroclix and Transformers, until one day a bunch of lunatics arrived from another Heroclix forum. This new group quickly took up residence in a new subforum titled the "Halls of Hysteria". Figuring that any group which left in such large numbers from another site probably merited watching, CO opted to stay away from the subforum for several months, instead participating in another subforum, Beetle's Comics World, created by Beetle, one of the recent immigrants.

Becoming a regular in the comics forum, Chaomancer got to know several of the Halls group and eventually wandered into the asylum himself where he found it every bit as crazy as he expected, but a lot more fun. Since then he became as regular a participant there as any other forum, and eventually it became his true home on the web. When the Halls split off, CO was the second person to join the new site. Partly this was because of a well-forged friendship with Slovman, and partly because CO had to do a lot of the coding necessary to get the new forum running and looking the way Slovman wanted it.

CO was indirectly responsible for one of the biggest disasters to hit the Halls, when his alternate-future self Sextant came back in time to destroy all of reality in the mega-event "Zero Halls". Alongside the other Guardians of the Halls, Chaomancer has fought against himself, George Lucas, and other threats using a shotgun, his short temper, and the ability to defy the laws of probability. He also regularly channels Doc Brown when dealing with anything science-fictiony, whether it's appropriate or not - most often not. Recent evidence suggests that this transformation may be influenced by the Rock of Shining Intellect, if not wholly caused by it.

CO is a two time McCrea Award winner. He won in 2004 for Best Tech Support and again in 2005 for Best Hallsian; in 2006 his Battle of the Cartoons won the award for Best Battle.

CO's Avatar and Costume

CO is a member of the Osage tribe of Indians. Accordingly, his most common avatar is the Osage Medicine Spider. The Spider is a traditional symbol of the Osage, and represents victory through patience. The story behind the spider is easily found through a web search, but the heart of it is that "Where I am I build my trap, and all things come to it."

When Slovman sought to create visual character representations of Hallsians, CO's costume was modeled after the Marvel character Spider-Man, with the colors changed to gray and green, and with the Medicine Spider as the chest symbol. CO views Spider-Man as his favorite Marvel character (independently of his tribe's affinity for spiders), but has currently sworn off all mainstream Spider-Man titles due to what he perceives as severe editorial mismanagement of the character under Joe Quesada and J. Michael Straczynski. His costume has since been redesigned.

CO's new costume consists of a simple casual outfit; jeans with a t-shirt bearing an omega on the front, over which he wears a leather jacket with a large patch of the Osage medicine spider on its back.
