Checkmate

Checkmate is a clandestine organization in the DC Comics Earth, currently in the form of a United Nations sanctioned international counter-terrorism organization. It is traditionally headed up by a king and a queen on both the white (organization) and black (operations) sides. During the OMAC Project, Max Lord was the Black King, and killed his fellow "royals" to run the entire organization himself. Currently, the "royals" consist of Sasha Bordeaux, the Black Queen; Taleb Beni Khalid, the Black King (who has not appeared prior in other series); Mr. Terrific, the White King; and Amanda Waller, the White Queen.
