Chuck Austen
From HallsWiki
Chuck Austen is a comic-book writer that Hallsians love to hate. He has a reputation for coming across as a complete ass in person, and his interviews have reinforced this opinion. But while a person can be dislikable and still be talented, Austen is that even more contemptible figure who is both an asshole and incompetent. Few, if any, of his comic book works have been enjoyed by the residents of the Halls.
Despite this, he has sometimes achieved a fair amount of business success. In 2004, most notably, he was given main writing duties on many top Marvel and DC Comics titles, including Action Comics, X-Men, J.L.A., and Avengers. The opinion on the Halls was that each title stunk during his tenure, and accordingly, he was given the Most Successful Illiterate award during the 2004 McCrea Awards. Coincidentally or not, Chuck Austen mercifully dropped out of the picture at both of the "Big Two" soon afterwards.
The name of Chuck Austen is a bit of an "Easter Egg" with the Halls word censor as well. A particularly foul insult is blocked by the censor and is replaced with "Chuck Austen".
