Detective Chimp

After drinking from the Fountain of Youth, the chimpanzee who would become Detective Chimp was gifted with extreme longevity, intelligence, and the ability to communicate with all animals, even humans. He opened up a detective agency, at which he was highly skilled, but found that as a chimp, he had no legal standing and could not get his clients to pay him. He eventually found his way to the Oblivion Bar, where he went on a 50-year bender, until the events of Day of Vengeance drove him to sobriety. He joined up with the Shadowpact, and has become an advisor to the team. Detective Chimp has been referred to as "Bobo", but he refuses to answer to it, referring to it as his "slave name". He permits his friends to call him "D.C.".

Detective Chimp won the 2006 McCrea Award for Best Secondary Character, though Rock Gladstone wound up walking away with it in confusion.
