The Fantasy Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny was inspired by the Lunatic Fighting League, the Battle to End All Battles III, and the Lemon Demon song The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. In fact, many of the fighters were pulled directly from the list of characters mentioned in the song.

In the "FUSUD", as it is often abbreviated, the Hallsians create their teams, drafting 12 fighters to compete against each other in polls where the Hallsians decide who would be more likely to win the fight. The teams face off against another team, with each team putting forth five fighters during the match. During the fights, some fighters may become injured, and a Free Agency is setup to allow team managers to swap out injured or otherwise useless fighters.

Top Player Free Agent Rule

In the second season of the FUSUD, a rule was introduced prior to the draft that the top player from each team would become a free agent, re-entering the draft. The original team would be able to re-draft them -- but any other team could also draft that player if they had the desire and opportunity first.

Carryover Rule

Also prior to the second season draft, a rule was introduced regarding carryover from previous seasons' teams. Each team was allowed to choose up to three of their team members, not counting their top player, who they wished to immediately re-sign to their team. All other players on their team would re-enter the draft as free agents, to be picked up by their team again or by another team.
