Fighting Hyrax

The Fighting Hyrax was the mascot of the now-disbanded University of the Halls and most notably carried by their short-lived football team. The hyrax itself is a seemingly-unremarkable small mammal that resembles North American rodents like the groundhog and prairie dog, but actually is more closely related to the elephant.

Chosen as the University's mascot largely because of the unusual name and DrQuinzel's strange fascination with the creature, the Fighting Hyrax was often pictured with boxing gloves and sometimes went by the name of Max. Now that the University is no longer officially part of Halls Isle, it's unclear whether the Fighting Hyrax will live on.
