Grasshopper

Grasshopper is a very short-lived Marvel comics character who first appeared in the miniseries G.L.A.. Grasshopper was a security guard for Roxxon Industries who came upon a super-powered suit that allowed him to jump great distances. After teaming up with the Great Lakes Avengers in a fight against Batroc's Brigade, he was invited to join the team, which he happily accepted... mere microseconds before a sai thrown by Zaran passed through Doorman and impaled Grasshopper's head, killing him (and prompting Monkey Joe to comment that this was a new record for shortest membership on any team.)

A second Grasshopper showed up during the G.L.X-Mas Special, and met a similarly quick demise as he discovered that "Maximum Jump" took him into orbit without any means of obtaining oxygen.

The original Grasshopper's demise won him the 2005 McCrea Award for Best Death.
