- This article is about the Marvel comics character. For the Black Sabbath song, see Iron Man (Song)
A brilliant scientist and weapons designer, Tony Stark is a billionare playbloy to most of the world. But he is better known to Marvel comics fans as Iron Man. A key member of the Avengers, Iron Man was a focal point of the Disassembled story (which led to Avengers Disassembled Disassembled) and in Civil War, Iron Man is at the forefront of the comics universe. He also stars in his own title, and periodic miniseries. He brought his repulsor rays to bear on the enemies of the Knox Vegas Clamhammers, but in four matches failed to win a single fight. He was thus removed from the FUSUD league prior to the second season.
In Civil War, Iron Man heads the pro-Registration side, and does so with actions that are distinctly unheroic. He betrays his friends, hunts them down, and imprisons them without trial in the Negative Zone. He clones Thor, and when the clone runs amok and kills Goliath, Iron Man only shuts the clone down temporarily to examine him rather than scrapping the project altogether. He assists S.H.I.E.L.D. in training villains on the anti-Registration heroes, and ambushes heroes with potentially deadly force. All the while, he insists that the ends justify the means.
These acts caused the Hallsian community to view him as a traitor to heroes, and they awarded him the 2006 McCrea Award for Best Supervillain.
He also sucks at magic.
