Runner-up in the Battle of the Comic Book Storylines, Kingdom Come was originally published by DC Comics as a 12-part miniseries written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Alex Ross. The story took place in a possible future of the DC Comics universe where Superman had retired and the current generation of superheroes were often more violent and destructive than the villains.
