Like a banshee
From HallsWiki
Though the origins of this gag are somewhat murky, Hallsians have become notorious for using the uncommon euphemism "like a banshee" where it really isn't supposed to be used at all.
The original intent of the phrase was as a figurative expression to describe someone screaming or making excessive noise. Americans have further extended the meaning to include speed or luck, possibly in confusion with the phrase "like a bandit."
Hallsians have taken the extension of the phrase to excess, occasionally saying that the weather is "hot like a banshee," or that something "smells like a banshee." The most common usage now is to follow someone else's post with the phrase, even if it makes little to no sense to do so.
