The simplest explanation of melanierose is that there is no simple explanation of melanierose. The only thing we know for sure is that she lives in Canada. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours.

That said, she frequently makes use of an inexplicable ability to cram things into her oversized ears. And we're not talking about paper clips and pen caps here, we're talking appliances, vehicles, even people. It's been theorized that the inside of her head is actually some sort of tesseract. Even the Hallsians that have been shoved in there have been unable to determine just how large a space it is, or how much other stuff she's got stored away in there. Nevertheless, she has been designated as an emergency bomb shelter should things really hit the fan.

Personality-wise, melanierose opts to enter any conversation with the most bizarre non-sequiter she can muster and go from there. Two of her favorite subjects are bubble wrap and shoelace aglets. Even seasoned Halls veterans - crazy people in their own right - can't quite get a handle on her nonsensical antics. But they know she's fun to have around, even if she's cramming them in her ear.

At one time a very regular participant of the forums, melanierose's involvement has diminished of late. She will, however, infrequently show up for a couple days of heavy posting.

Melanierose won the 2004 McCrea Award for Best Aural Storage.
