Midtowns

The Midtowns were three forums or sections of Halls Isle that housed largely superfluous stores, shops, restaurants, and other amenities geared toward the quasi-roleplaying nature of the Halls. The three original Midtowns included Comics Midtown, Games Midtown, and Collegetown.

In the spring of 2006 after the collapse of the fraternities, three councils were formed to oversee the Midtowns and try and drive traffic to them. Several employees were "hired" to staff the stores, and the councils moved and renamed several locations as well as brainstormed new ideas to make the areas unique. While several places in the Midtowns were fairly popular -- Rock Gladstone's Office, The Magic 8-Ball's Parlor, and Gelf's Tavern being the most notable locales -- overall the Midtowns were largely vacant.

So when Mirror Slovman attacked the Halls in August of 2006 and destroyed Slovman's Green Lantern power ring, it was decided to consolidate the Midtowns into a Unified Midtown known as Stovehaven to lessen the amount of territory the de-powered Tyrant would have to patrol.
