Monkey Joe

Monkey Joe was the pet squirrel sidekick of Squirrel Girl. Though he never spoke directly within the scenes of any comic, in the miniseries G.L.A. he served as commentator throughout the mishaps of the Great Lakes Avengers. Monkey Joe's commentary was hilarious in the extreme, often taking something innocuous and making it funny, or making a subtle (or not-so-subtle) point about comics industry and fandom. Monkey Joe was awarded the 2005 McCrea Award for Best Secondary Character.
