Peanuts

Charles Schulz's classic comic strip, starring Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy and an assortment of slightly maladjusted children, Peanuts ran for 50 years until Schulz's retirement. Schulz died on the day the final strip ran. The strip has inspired virtually all comic strips to have followed it, directly or indirectly, and is widely considered one of the greatest in history.

Peanuts took second place in the Battle of the Comic Strips.
