When Slovman installed a ShoutBox on the Halls forums, most Hallsians didn't quite know what to make of it. Basically another time-wasting way of yelling at each other, it quickly fell by the wayside and was eventually deleted. Inexplicably, this was not the end.

Soon after the actual mechanism was deleted, a physical manifestation of the ShoutBox appeared on the Halls and began doing what it does best...shouting. It rarely screamed more than two words at a time and often these exclamations had little to no bearing on what was happening at the time. Apparently only interested in (or capable of) annoying everyone with its impossibly loud screams as revenge for being nearly "killed," the ShoutBox has proved fairly harmless despite his obvious malevolence.

Often the ShoutBox will appear in times of crisis, either serving as a harbinger of doom or possibly just wanting to increase the stress of the situation. It most notably appeared during the last stand at the Fortress of Ineptitude during Zero Halls and shouted "NACHOS!!!" at an inappropriate time. Its appearances became infrequent and eventually stopped altogether afterwards, and most Hallsians who remembered it assumed it had been destroyed.

This theory was disproved in May 2007 when the ShoutBox reappeared, loud as ever. Its intentions still remain a mystery.
