Stand By Me
From HallsWiki
Stand By Me by Ben E. King was the fourth place finisher in the Battle of the Oldies and the only song in the top four not to have shutout at least one earlier opponent (and, in fact, had itself been shutout by the eventual winner Johnny B. Goode in the semi-finals).

Lyrics
When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we'll see No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh now now stand by me Stand by me, stand by me If the sky that we look upon Should tumble and fall And the mountains should crumble to the sea I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear Just as long as you stand, stand by me And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me, oh now now stand by me Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by me Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me
