The highly popular DC Comics character has always been a fan favorite. This led to his inclusion in the Lemon Demon song The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, and his being drafted in the FUSUD by the Twinkyville Cupcakes. Superman as a character has not yet won a McCrea Award, though some of his products have.
Kingdom Come Superman
This Heroclix figure, Kingdom Come Superman, was the 2004 winner of the McCrea Award for Best Heroclix. It is regarded as being one of the most powerful figures of the time, as well as being a good likeness of the character.
Superman comic books
Superman stars in his own self-titled series, as well as Action Comics, where he debuted in the first issue. He also has sometimes had other ongoing series at the same time, and there are frequently miniseries devoted to him.
The mini-series Superman: Secret Identity won a McCrea Award in 2004 for Best Miniseries. It was written by Kurt Busiek and featured a "real world" boy named Clark Kent who gradually discovers that he does, in fact, have the powers of his comic-book namesake.
