Transformers

The subjects of a popular 1980s animated series and toy line, the Transformers are giant robots with the ability to turn themselves into Earth vehicles like cars and planes. They were also the subject of a long-running comic book series at Marvel during the 1980s, a short-lived series by the now-defunct company Dreamwave in 2004 and 2005, and recently, several series by IDW.

A live-action/CGI movie was released in July 2007, helmed by director Michael Bay. Many Hallsians had great trepidation about this, though the consensus now seems to be that it was a good movie after all.
